Additional Coverages
| Coverage | Charge |
|---|---|
| $1,000,000 Non-Owned & Hired Auto Liability | $500.00 |
| $1,000,000 Sexual Abuse & Molestation | $250.00 |
Non-Owned & Hired Auto Liability — Provides coverage if the insured organization is sued for liability arising from the use of a vehicle on organization business, when that vehicle is not owned by the organization (for example, a parent’s vehicle or one borrowed or rented). Coverage excludes 15-passenger vans, and there is no coverage for the driver of any vehicle while transporting youth or adult participants. This policy does not cover physical damage to the non-owned or hired vehicle itself; separate arrangements must be made for that coverage.
Sexual Abuse & Molestation Coverage — This coverage does not apply unless the insured sports organization has each of the following in place:
- A system for performing and running criminal background checks on paid staff and volunteers.
- Written procedures that include sexual abuse and molestation prevention.
- Written procedures that include a response plan for allegations of sexual abuse or molestation, including a requirement that law enforcement be contacted.
Sadler provides a ready-to-adopt template (short form and regular) that meets these requirements. For teams added mid-term to a current insured Member Sports Organization policy, this coverage applies between the team’s purchase effective date and the Member Sports Organization policy’s expiration date.
Optional Coverages (Not-for-Profit Organizations Only)
To be eligible for these optional coverages, the organization must purchase its General Liability through the SODA program and cannot be a for-profit organization. Contact Sadler Insurance at soda@sadlersports.com or 1-800-622-7370 for eligibility, cost, and a special application.
Directors & Officers Liability — $315 per governing board
- $1,000,000 limit for certain wrongful acts
- Protects against certain claims not covered by General Liability, such as discrimination, wrongful suspension/ejection/termination of personnel or players, or failure to follow the organization’s own rules or bylaws when making a decision
- Covered persons: the local sports organization and its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers
- Does not replace bodily injury, property damage, or personal injury coverage found in a General Liability policy
Equipment / Crime
- Equipment: $1.53 per $100 of value ($1.22 per $100 in HI and NY); covers organization-owned equipment (field maintenance, concessions, fences, scoreboards, bleachers, and similar) against fire, wind, theft, and vandalism; the limit chosen must equal 100% of replacement cost value to avoid a co-insurance penalty; $500 per-claim deductible
- Crime: $280 charge; $25,000 limit covering financial loss from embezzlement of funds or theft of equipment by the organization’s own directors, officers, or staff; $500 deductible
- Combined policy minimum premium: $300
