Does my degree qualify me for the Certified rate? If my certification has lapsed, do I qualify for the certified rate for Fitness Instructor coverage? No, you must provide a currently valid copy of a certification in order to qualify for the certified rate – degrees do not qualify you for the Certified rate. When will my coverage be effective? For mailed or faxed enrollment forms, your coverage will be effective one day after we receive your enrollment form and payment (and certification) or a later date if requested. For online enrollments, your coverage will be effective one day after your enrollment date or a later date if requested. When will I receive proof of coverage? For mailed or faxed submissions, it can take up to 6 business days from the date of receipt of your submission to send your Certificate(s) of Insurance. For online enrollments, you will immediately receive a link to a .pdf Certificate(s) of Insurance that can be printed. How are my Certificates of Insurance delivered? For mailed or faxed submissions, Certificates Of Insurance are sent to the applicant via email, fax if no email, and mail if there is no fax or email. For online enrollments, you will immediately receive a link to a .pdf Certificate(s) of Insurance that can be printed. Can I apply over the phone? No – our underwriters require completed paper enrollment forms OR online enrollment completion. Can I use my credit card to pay? No – we must have a check (can be sent via fax or email) or check information can be input for online enrollment. Will this policy cover me in my own home? Other people’s homes? Premises I rent/lease? Fitness Instructor coverage will provide protection in all of these locations for covered lawsuits arising out of negligent instruction and supervision. However, coverage is NOT provided for premises related defects (ex: wet spot on floor, machinery malfunction) in premises you own, lease, rent, or operate. Exercise Studio coverage is needed in addition to individual instructor coverage for these locations. Is this annual coverage? Yes, the policy term is one year from the effective date. What if I hire other instructors? Sports and Fitness Instructor policies are written on an individual basis; therefore, each new instructor should have his/her own coverage. I am a Dance Instructor – do I qualify for Fitness Instructor coverage? Yes. I am a Cheerleading Instructor – do I qualify for the Fitness Instructor coverage? No, you must apply for Sports Instructor coverage. I am a Martial Arts Instructor without a Martial Arts School – do I qualify for either the Sports Instructor or Fitness Instructor program? No. We can cover your Martial Arts School, but cannot write a Liability only policy for an individual instructor. What insurance company are you using for this coverage and what is their A.M. Best (financial) rating? Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, A+ rated. |
